Frequently asked questions
We offer a range of training courses, providing both bespoke training relevant to the Design and Technology curriculum and nationally recognised (D&TA accredited) training in health and safety.
Our experienced training specialists can design and deliver the perfect programme to meet your needs.
The courses are suitable for experienced practitioners, newly qualified teachers, technicians and support staff.
Every five years and each course is delivered over two days.
We provide all delegates with a health ad safety portfolio which will include a record of your training and a range of records and activities relevant to your own practice.
Courses are conducted at a school location to suit you. We prefer to hold the training at a school/college as this provides the best practical and theoretical experience.
You will be sent a list of things to prepare for the practical and theoretical elements of the course.
Once you have booked the course you will be sent pre-course information to enable you to begin to assemble your portfolio during the course.
Within the course cost we include the course itself, pre-printed portfolios, all activities, notes, materials for the practical tasks, a copy of all presentations and refreshments.
We have experienced, qualified trainers. We select the most appropriate trainer for the course content and the delegate group. Our consultants bring that experience to the classroom.
What would you like to know?
1.Do delegates get any form of certification?
All the course delegates receive certificates from D&TA. Certificates of competence are issued to delegates attending our courses. We include a method of validation to give assurance that the delegate has met the required level of competence.
2. Why should we use Datrus for our training?
Datrus has trained over 300 delegates in the UK and UAE. The team has extensive experience in curriculum development, resources within D&T and health and safety training.
3. What training methods do you use?
We use a variety of methods during a course, depending on the subject and the course objectives. Our philosophy is to “train by doing” which means that we include practical exercises. This enables delegates to put the theory into practice and see at the same time how it relates to their own workplace.
